Staff of Imo State Broadcasting Corporation (IBC) embarked on another
industrial action that crippled all the activities at the government
owned radio station.
The workers, who were operating under the aegis of Joint Action
Committee, JAC sealed the corporation's premises.
The protesting workers who blocked the major entrance in the station
with their placards, however called on governor Rochas Okorocha to pay
them their salaries.
Some of the inscriptions on their placard reads; "We are tired of
borrowing money to come to office," "Pay us our 5 months salary." "We
can no longer work on empty stomach," "IBC staff are dying of hunger,
our DG died because of pressure from staff salaries," "IBC staff
deserves commendation not humiliation. Etc.
The IBC workers who look very aggrieved during the demonstration
pointed out that they don't want 50% salary. "We want our salary
100%," they added.
