Panic in Imo over niger delta planned attack

There are palpable fears around Imo state capital Owerri and beyond
following a threat by the Niger Delta Avengers over attacks on South
East states and two others in the South-South region of Nigeria.

security operatives in Imo state have maintained a watertight check
on individuals, especially those that visit government house in
Owerri, with a view to tracking down all strange elements that have no
business visiting the seat of power popularly addressed as the Douglas
house.

It would be recalled that the group on Monday 13, June, 2016 gave both
the South East and some South-South governors warning, which the group
said is the last one, and this was contained in a statement signed by
its
spokesperson, Brigadier-General Mudoch Agbinibo.

The governors at which the warning was directed are Victor Okezie
Ukpeazu of Abia State, Willie Obiano of Anambra State, Henry Seriake
Dickson of Bayelsa State, Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State, Dave Umahi of
Ebonyi State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State and Rochas Okorocha of
Imo State
