BREAKING: IMSU Student parliament votes overwhelmingly to Impeach SUG Executive as school Management Wades In (PHOTOS AND VIDEO)

As observed by Mr. Elijah Madubuihe at IMSU Commassie,venue for the legislative seating, Members of the legislative arm of the Students’ Union Government (SUG), Imo State University owerri have impeached the SUG 16TH Republic Director of transport who is known across the campus as comrade AVALON from his office and also halted temporarily the director of welfare comrade PC.

He was impeached after deliberation of the parliament on Friday May 11th 2017, which was endorsed by Right Honourable Ojinaka Kingsley IMSU SUG Speaker of the parliament with full support of the senators on sit, an impeachment document in respect to the dethronement of Comrade AVALON and PC was signed by all senators present inclusive of Senator Ofoegbu Chima (SUG DEPUTY SPEAKER) and Senator Johnkennedy Chima (SUG CHIEF WHIP).

THE SUG PRESIDENT CMRD IWUCHUKWU FRANKLIN, GIVING ACCOUNT OF STEWARDSHIP AFTER 100 DAYS IN OFFICE

Elijah Madubuihe was LIVE at the sitting; the SUG Director of Transport was impeached based on charges which include:

– Misappropriation of union funds.

– Threats to life and security of the SUG senate president and members of the parliament.

– Monopolizing the union’s fund.

– Refusal to appear before the parliament.

– Unaccountability and gross misconduct.

– Degrading of serving SUG senators.

The above mentioned constitutes the ground on which he was impeached by the Parliament arm of the union. Declaring the impeachment, the Speaker of the Parliament, Right Honourable Ojinaka Kingsley called for any opposition to his impeachment, none obliged and he therefore announced his impeachment.

Contained in the Parliament resolution is an announcement that an In-house Caretaker committee shall henceforth act in the capacity of the students' union as her Director of transport.

COMRADE AVALON ANSWERING QUESTIONS FROM THE MEDIA AFTER HIS IMPEACHMENT

The House also consensually warned that Comrade AVALON and Comrade PC to stop parading their self as the Director of Transport and Welfare of the Union respectively, with an ultimatum to return all the union's properties within their possession.

It was so heated that the former commissioner for education and acting vice chancellor Imo State University Owerri, Professor (Mrs.) Victoria Adaobi Obasi came to address the issue, She made it clear that the school Management will now impede the actual conditional switch trailing the Gross misconduct of the accused.

Mrs. Obasi instantaneously delegated the IMSU chief security Officer to make a report and submit to her office as soon as possible for proper sanctioning, noting the school Management has absolute supremacy over students.

She further stated that No Student in IMSU is above the university as it has rusticated fourthy (40) students from the faculty of law in the just concluded 2016/2017 first semester examination.

This act has made a history in the round of IMSU SUG, a precedence and legacy never to be forgotten.
