NIGER DELTA RED SQUAD BLOW-UP PIPELINES IN IMO

A dangerous militant group from the oil producing communities in Imo
State, is born. The group is called Niger Delta red Squad.

The group had accepted blowing up oil pipelines of Agip company
located at Umuonei in Awarra community of Ohaji/Egbema LGA on Monday
morning.

One of the leaders who identified himself as Commander, claimed
responsibility of the new development at the oil pipelines.

The Commander debunked the impression created by the general public
especially the government agencies and oil companies that they were
cult groups, stressing that government at all levels including the oil
companies operating in the areas have neglected their people, turning
them to slaves and fools.

He said since the inception of their communities which is rich in
natural resources from God, the oil companies who came to partner with
them and government have displayed total disregard to the entire oil
producing areas.

He disclosed that they vowed to eliminate the presence of Imo state
government and oil companies like Agip, shell and particularly
Waltersmith oil companies operating in the areas in 72 hours.

He stated some of their reasons as suffering in no community
development, no employment even drivers position, security, hijacked
of contracts from their parents and disengagement of people from the
community.
