IMSU STRIKE: SEE PHOTOS OF IMSU STUDENTS PROTEST IN OWERRI

students of Imo State University, Owerri under the umbrella of
"Concerned Students " embarked on a peaceful protest this today to
demand an end to the indefinite strike action embarked upon by all the
staff unions of the university including ASUU (Academic Staff Union of
Universities), NASU (Non Academic Staff Union), and SSANU (senior
staff association) since March 21st 2016.

The strike which have kept the students at home for close to 2 months
now has crippled all academic, non academic as well as economic
activities in the area. The students who have mostly travelled home
have left their exorbitantly rented hostels unoccupied as their rents
waste.
Also, the academic calendar has suffered loss of weeks and whenever
school resumes, the students will be the ones under pressure to make
up for lost time.
The year one students of the 2015/16 academic year are yet to write
their first semester exams.

As strike continues, the Protest continues next week.
