Technology Dr. Oluyemi Akande has accused
the Imo State Government and indeed the
entire Imolites of failing to recognize and
appreciate one of the best specialized
institutions in sub Saharan Africa located in the
State .
Akande dropped the hint recently while
receiving the Registrar and Chief Executive
Officer of the Joint Admission and Matriculation
Board (JAMB) Prof. Ishaq Oluyode who paid a
fact finding visit to the College.
The Provost revealed that his institution had in
the past 25 years of its existence lived up to its
core mandate and had remained the primus
inter-pares in the comity of Tertiary
Institutions not only in Nigeria but in Africa. Dr.
Akande told the visiting Register that
FECOLART offers programmes and courses
that end up making their products Job creators
and not Job seekers in the areas of Agricultural
Engineering, Computer Science, Information
and Communication Technology, Environmental
Management, Landscape Architecture, Geo
Informatics, Agric Economics among many
others. Akande said FECOLART has an internet
village that allows students and staff to browse
seamlessly free of charge while on Campus.
