Strike Watch: When is Adekunle Ajasin University going to re- open?

Adekunle Ajasin University, Ondo State, has been on and off this
year for some reason or the other, and there can be no better time
to resume than now.

Sometime in April, Ojo , a student of Economics Education was
returning home after a first semester exam. He was probably
thinking about his next paper, or what he was going to eat, when a
reckless motorcyclist ran him over.

Before Ibaka Market where it happened, could completely grasp
what had just happened, the motorcyclist took off.
If this accident angered students, it is the following events that set
the students off.

While they managed to rush Ojo to the school's clinic, the staff
were reluctant to treat him. They advised he be taken to a better
equipped hospital outside the school, which they did. The next
day, he was transferred from that hospital to the Federal Medical
Centre in Owo.

That day, that gloomy morning on Saturday, Ojo died.
Students rallied, chants rose high, and the demand to the
community was simple; fish out the culprit. As with most mobs,
miscreants joined their ranks, things escalated, stones were
thrown, and shops were looted.

In the end, exams were postponed, and the school was shut down
indefinitely.
