We are not sacking ImoPoly workers –Rector

Following the commencement of warning strike embarked upon by ASUP,
NASU and SSANIP Imo State Polytechnic Umuagwo chapter, to drive home
their grievances over issues bordering on nonpayment of April and May
salaries, nonpayment of monetization, promotion arrears and proper
placement of staff, termination of appointments, down grading of staff
etc.

The Rector of Imo State Polytechnic Umuagwo Very Rev. Fr. Dr. Wence
Madu in a telephone chat with newsmen posited that the workers of Imo
Polytechnic received their February and march salaries some couple of
weeks ago and that the April and May salaries will be paid to them as
soon as the money is made available by the government.

It is important to note that the Imo Polytechnic Umuagwo has witnessed
lots of infrastructural developments courtesy of Rev. Fr. Dr. Wence
Madu. The institution has equally attracted foreign assistance and
most course gaining accreditation courtesy of the Rector, the
institution has equally witness massive repositioning in academic
issues. What is important now is for the house unions and the
management to come together to iron out certain grievances mentioned
by the Unions to enable chart the way forward for the institution.
