UNN: Students stage protest over epileptic power supply

"With UNN'S second semester exams drawing closer, while IMSU is on
strike and yet to write their first semester exams. UNN SUG in
collaboration with university stakeholders is declaring a one week sit
at home protest."

The students of the University of Nigeria, Enugu » Campus (UNEC)
reportedly staged a protest by staying away from lectures as a
reaction to months of near absence of electric power supply in the
university.
The Student Union Government of the institution gave the directive for
students to boycott lectures and other academic activities.

The protest, which began on Monday, June 6, is coming as the students
prepares for the 2015/2016 second semester academic session
examinations.

The lecture halls on campus were locked at around 6:00am with the
signs: " SUG UNEC , No Light, No Lectures, Keep Off!!!" on the doors.

On Sunday, June 5, the student union president, Emmanuel Ebuka Nwankwo
had urged students to comply with the directive to draw management's
attention to their plight.
