Okorocha demolishes FSP Recreation Park in owerri

Perhaps, ignorant of the cries of the people as a result of the
destructions of buildings in Owerri, Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha
has continued with his road dualization that has cost so much pains
and hardship to the affected people without compensation.

His latest victim in the charade to demystify his predecessor's
achievements is the Maimuna Zubairu (FSP) Recreation Park situates
along Wetheral Road, Owerri and named after the wife of the last
Military Administrator of Imo State, Col. Tanko Zubairu in the Family
Support Programme (FSP). Over the weekend, heavy duty Construction
Equipment, to bring down the entire structures which hitherto housed
an underground artificial water tunnel, a swimming pool, kiddies
centre, an Event Centre, Business Centre and Administrative office
complex. Also demolished in the pull down old structures exercise is
the "Hungry Man Restaurant" which was the first fast food complex that
provided delicious meals for the business class and pioneer House of
Assembly members in the state.

Elsewhere Imolites are querying the resort to destruction of all those
structures that were put in place, long before the election into
office of Owelle Rochas Okorocha. Upon his arrival at Government House
Owerri, in 2011, he destroyed the Ikenga roundabout and replaced same
with the Palm wine taper and decorated it with the names of 27 LGAs of
Imo state adorned with an art work reading of the Bible. Okorocha did
not stop at that, he demolished the huge state treasury, and the Imo
state library complex, the multipurpose hall and a number of offices
already relocated elsewhere from Government House only to build what
looks like a "fortress inhabited by the first family of Imo state"
only.

As a result, most Imolites have decried the wastages incurred in the
demolition and reconstruction exercises as callous, mindless, and born
out of a mind of paranoid. If not that, it is not feasible, Okorocha
would have demolished the entire Concorde Hotels, New Owerri and like
Jesus Christ rebuild it in three days just to lay claim over it and
dominate his predecessors.
