Nigeria Youth Parliament inaugurated in Imo

The Nigeria Youth Parliament, Imo State chapter, was on Thursday
inaugurated with Rt. Hon. Williams Opara as the newly elected speaker
of the parliament in the state.

The inauguration took place in Owerri, with the oath of office
administered to the elected officers by the legal adviser, Barr. Greg
Anyanwu.

While Anyanwu administered the oath of office to the young lawmakers
from the various local government areas, he ceased the opportunity and
encouraged them to see the body as a "youth activism" for upcoming
leaders in the country.

He advised them to collectively discuss with the aim of achieving
solutions to the myriad of problems facing youths in their
environment. Anyanwu also called on them to use the platform to
unanimously put together their needs which they expected from their
government, so that those outlined priorities could be captured in the
subsequent budget of the state.
