Buhari heads to London for medical treatment

President Muhammadu Buhari will today travel to London for 10 days to
seek medical attention and take a rest, his verified Twitter handle
announced, yesterday.

The President's verified Twitter handle, @NGRPresident, tweeted
yesterday, "During the holiday, the President will see an Ear, Nose
and Throat specialist for a persistent ear infection.

"The President was examined by his personal physician and an E.N.T
Specialist in Abuja and was treated. Both Nigerian doctors recommended
further evaluation purely as a precaution.

This development came barely a few days after the President's Special
Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, said in a Channels
Television programme that the President was hale and hearty
It had been on social media platforms and in the public domains, but
without official reactions that the President has been suffering from
Ménière's disease, a disease of unknown cause affecting the membranous
labyrinth of the ear, causing progressive deafness and attacks of
tinnitus and vertigo.

The ill-development was said to have been the reason the President
couldn't go to Lagos where he was billed to commission some projects
penultimate week.
The same scenario played out last week in which the president failed
to show up at Ogoniland, Rivers State, where he was to flag off the
clean-up of oil spill in the area.
