Okorocha to Imolites ‘Be proud of your governor’ ..says he's the founder of New Imo State

Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State last Saturday at Douglas House
boasted that he has beaten the records of past Imo governors within
his five years in office, urging the people to be proud of him. The
Imo governor who stated this while interacting with Imo Journalist,
recounted all the projects and policies of his administration which
according to him are targeted at alleviating the sufferings of the
entire Imo people. He added that he is the founder of new Imo State,
adding that the core aim of his administration is to save the lives of
the numerous Imolites while protecting the interest of the few rich.
"Let me say to you that five years down the line, I have been able to
provide for our people certain basic necessity of life. Five years
down the line, we can proudly look around and count over 1000 projects
that we have built, visible and commissionable projects to better the
lots of our people. "Five years down the line, we have improved on the
security in Imo State and Imo state is getting close to safe heaven.
Five years down the line, we have introduced and sustained free
education. Five years down the line, we have made remarkable impact in
educational infrastructures. We have recruited over 12,000.00 teachers
some of them fall under the category of Youths Must Work. Five years
down the line, we have done a whole lot in the health sector. I have
repackaged Government House within these five years. So tell all the
people that care to listen that there is nothing I have not done."
Okorocha however highlighted the need for the state to diversify its
economy in order to adapt the current economic realities on ground.
stating that Imolites should henceforth grow interest in agriculture
which according to him is the alternative way out for economic growth
and sustainability of the individuals, the state and the nation at
large. Okorocha who declared himself as the founder of new Imo State,
also noted that, "We have changed the entire landscape of Imo State.
My style is applying radical measure to change radical situation." He
however pointed out that; "I'm very proud to be called your governor,
I built Government House Chapel which has opened our spiritual way and
have brought our people closer to God. He solicited the collective
support and partnership of the Imo people to ensure that his
administration do more for the state while assuring on the completion
of all the on-going and yet to be completed projects in the state
initiated by his led Rescue Mission Administration.
