NLC strike shuts down schools, banks and govt offices

The National Labour Congress strike against the removal of the petrol
subsidy has caused mayhem across the country, with schools, banks and
government offices being forced to close in Jos.

Workers were prevented from going to work and were instead persuaded
to participate in the strike.

The Union went as far as moving from office to office chasing away
anyone who had reported for work.

Most banks and public schools closed down too in fear of any
retaliation, forcing the State to come to a standstill.

airport staff as well as passengers were left stranded as the airport
was shut down by the Union's protestors.
