NLC continues strike, storms Lagos Secretariat

Members of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) have gained momentum in
some parts of the country, with leadership declaring that the strike
action will continue into Friday.

NLC leaders stormed the Lagos State Secretariat in Ikeja on Thursday,
disrupting activities and stopping civil servants from carrying out
their duties.

Although protesters were initially prevented from entering the
Secretariat precinct, they overpowered the workers, gaining access and
marching to the Head of of Service office.

"Today one tomatoe is being sold for N100 and we cannot allow this
injustice to continue. A policy that does not consider the average
Nigerian is anti-people and must be resisted," he said.
Commercial activities continued as usual in other states, with Ekiti
State shunning the nationwide strike.

Some office doors remain locked, including those belonging to
Government, due to fear of intimidation,
